  • Sherry,

Thank you so much for your lovely note.  I read the poem to Mia.  It was really beautiful and to think that it came from a 9 year old.  I wanted to write you a note to say how impressed I was at the VIP weekend.  This being Mia's first year as part of a team - I had no idea the level of sophistication that was being taught to ADA students.  I found myself with tears in my eyes watching the seniors dance.

I know I speak for my husband, Mia and I when I say how grateful we are - I know Mia is in such good hands and that she is getting a well rounded dance education.

    Kindest regards,

    A Studio Parent

PS: And here is the poem.

  • “Dance is beautiful

It’s the soul of the heart
Dancers are the athletes of God
Every step they take is confident
    Leaping through the air
    Turning like a balloon
    Soaring through the sky
    On their pointe shoes
It is magnificent what a dancer can do
Dancers are not just doing dance
They’re making their life come true."

  • Sherry & Team,

Wow are you kidding me?!  :<) What a great, fantastic, amazing, awesome recital last night.  The dances were so incredible to watch. (of course I had my favorite number which gave me chills and brought tears to my eyes making me remember why when I was younger I wanted to become a ballerina).   Thank you for producing such amazing talent. Simone-Audrey & I look forward to her growing as a dancer under your careful care and we are just so sorry we didn't find your studio when she started dancing!!!

    Sherry,

For what it's worth, I think you run an excellent studio and program.  My daughter Molly is 5 and just started taking the creative dance classes on Saturdays at 2:00 early this season.  We recently move from Omaha, Nebraska and I spent a few months researching studios in the suburbs and after reading teacher bios, observing classrooms, and getting many recommendations, we chose Academy of Dance Arts.

Your staff, dance floors, and communication have been excellent.  Hopefully you receive more positive messages than negative ones.

I have taught in studios and coached the University of Nebraska-Omaha dance team back in Nebraska before moving to Illinois, and I know all too well the occasional lack of appreciation from parents.

From this new studio member, but forever dancer - keep up the great program!

    Dear Sherry,

We and the girls are so sad to be leaving ADA and the Alliance.  Despite being with the Academy for a short time we have learned to love it.  This is in no small part due to the professionalism, commitment, and dedication of you and your faculty.  We congratulate you on a wonderful studio and wish ADA all the very best in the future.

We will miss you all enormously and thank you!

    Sherry,

Over twelve years ago we signed up our three year old daughter Kelsey for dance classes at the Academy of Dance Arts, a new local dance studio.  We had no idea at the time that it would turn out to be a world class studio with outstanding facilities and staff that would turn out professional career dancers every year.

The Academy provides endless opportunities for the beginner through pre-professional level dancer.  We have watched over the twelve years the incredible progress that the individual dancers make each year.  The quality of the instruction is apparent in the caliber of all the dancers.  For the students to have access to Sherry Moray, a prima ballerina with an international dance career and a nationally acclaimed choreographer, is a true gift.  Your ability to turn out exceptional, beautiful artistic dancers year after year is unmatched.  The performances are beautiful and impressive.  The students involved in competitions love what they do and achieve excellent results.  The technique and artistry of the Academy dancers draw the respect and admiration of any dance enthusiasts who see them.  At performance and competitions alike, it is typical to hear accolades from the audience.  At one particular performance, a visiting professional dancer from The Louisville ballet commented to me that he was "blown away by the excellence and technique across the board of the Academy dancers."  Our daughter's progress has developed from performing as a bunny in "The Fantastic Toy Shop" to a beautiful "Swan Lake" variation solo on pointe to energetic, exciting contemporary solos and ensembles.  We are forever grateful to the Academy for her tremendous growth and progress.

    Dear Sherry,

On behalf of our family, we want to thank you very much for making the "dance world" a better place.  I knew Gigi was going to thrive when we first walked in those doors.  I could see your hard work in doing your best to keep in alignment your mission through the years, which is not easy and takes a special committed, passionate, and patient teacher.  Although I knew my daughter harbored the gift of dance, by faith, she would bloom.  But what stood out most importantly, are the values and care of the dancer artistically.  I desired Gigi to grow and learn to appreciate the art in its created form.

Everything in life goes through the cycles of seasons.  In a sense, ADA's spring season was budding when Gigi first started and ended the season in full bloom!  Such an experience I hope Gigi will come to realize more as she matures in life looking back along the trail of petals behind her feeling grateful.  I appreciated your gentle way to encourage Gigi to challenge herself and appreciate the discipline of ballet.  The foundation truly made her into a better dancer.

Overall, our experience being part of ADA family has only been positive and a blessing to our family, especially for Gigi!  She has been blessed with good culture of families who extended their kindness and acceptance.  My prayers have been truly answered when I see the dancer she has become within her soul and spirit and will continue to pray she will uphold the art with integrity.  The unexpected surprise is her desire to pursue dance in college.  We don't know what the future holds, but one thing for sure, is the joy in watching her become the person/dancer she is created to be with confidence.

As we keep in touch and watch the flowers bloom abundantly, we are excited for ADA dancers in the upcoming season.

    Gratefully,

    Louisa Todisco

    Hello,

My name is Alexia and I'd just like to say a huge thank you to the Academy of Dance Arts. Back when I started in my freshman year when I was first taking classes, my instructor Miss Lindsay advised me to take ballet classes to help strengthen my core dancing skills. At the end of my junior year, here I am, finally making my high school orchesis team after trying for the past two years. In my coming senior year, I will finally be dancing on our school's best dance time. Third time's a charm, right? I couldn't have done it without the help of my instructor Miss Samantha who has taught me how to be a better dancer. As well as the academy, for being such a positive and encouraging environment for all of its students.

    Thanks,

    Alexia Vargas
